Many children, with or without Autism, can have multiple sensory needs and will require various adjustments in their environment and routines, in order to help them to reach a state of calm and self regulation. By having a positive sensory environment, a child will find the physical and mental stimuli to support their physical needs, developmental stage and/or their sensory requirements. In order to support you in providing the right sensory environment at home for your children, we have gathered some useful advice from leading professionals; as well as providing some helpful suggestions for a home sensory environment including activities and circuits that can be used to support your children.
If you have any questions regarding sensory needs or environments, please contact Ms Treacy (SENDCo) through the school's office.
