MFL INTENT | MFL at Henry Green aims to inspire all children to make connections with different people and their cultures and to play a fuller part as global citizens. Our intention is to provide high-quality language education that allows children to develop their interest in learning other languages in a way that is enjoyable and stimulating. Our MFL curriculum focuses on the progression of second language acquisition where children have the opportunity to speak, read, listen to and write in French. We aim to encourage children’s curiosity about language and the wider world while teaching them about different parts of France and French speaking countries subsequently developing their awareness of cultural differences in other countries. We strive to embed the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing necessary to enable children to use and apply their French learning in a variety of contexts and lay the foundations for future language learning.
