‘Learning Together, Learning For Life’

PSHE

I

Inclusive

Each PSHE topic enables our children to look into their lives while gaining an understanding of the lives of others.

D

deep Learning

Challenging children to give their opinions about day-to-day and global issues, while being open and respectful towards new or different ideas.

E

engaging

Our pupils have the freedom of verbal expression through regular whole class discussions and group projects.

A

Authentic

Reflective sessions teach our children to be true to themselves and who they are, allowing their authentic selves to shine through in every lesson.

S

Schema building

Each unit is taught yearly, building on prior knowledge while propelling children to a new stage of higher learning and a new aspect of the world.

INTENT

Our PSHE will encourage and challenge our children to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and those in their communities in addition to equipping them with skills to manoeuvre through their life now and in future.  Our aim also seeks to build self-esteem, self-confidence and self-regulation within our children.

EYFS INTENT

Our PSHE seeks to open their eyes to the world they see, understanding community, togetherness and gaining a sense of belonging.  Understanding what makes our children who they are, their unique and special qualities and tuning into their feelings.  Building important social bonds with their peers and learning how to stand up for themselves.
