Post of Responsibility – Race and Social Justice

I am the  current Chair of the Governing Board, having been with Henry Green Primary Governors for nearly five years. I come from a teaching/ Headteacher background. I spent all my career in Newham but trained in Barking and Dagenham schools, so am delighted to be back. My educational interests include Creative Arts, Inclusion and working with all sectors of the school community.

 

Ms C Lewis (Co-Chair) – Co-opted Governor

Term of Office: 31.12.26

Member of Appraisal and Pay committee.

I have been a member of the governing body at Henry Green since 2014 and I currently hold the position of Co-Chair. I have worked in a primary school in Newham since 1988.  My particular interests within education are centred around fostering positive behaviours with school and safeguardingI also have a particular interest in Mental Health.

Post of Responsibility – Curriculum

I am proud to be on the Governing Body of Henry Green, the school I began my career at as a newly qualified teacher. Since leaving Henry Green, I’ve worked in Redbridge but am now the Deputy Headteacher at a primary school in South Ockendon. I have a particular interest in the curriculum and safeguarding.

My name is Sakinah Rumjaun I come from a nursing background caring for adults and children, I have a special interest in SENCO, maths, English and art but take a interest in all aspects of learning across the curriculum. My son is currently in year 6 at Henry Green Primary.

 

Mrs S Tizzard - Parent Governor

Post of Responsibility – SEND, Cultural Education and Wellbeing/Mental Health Champion.

I have two children at Henry Green and have been a parent governor since 2020. I currently work for BD Collective, helping local voluntary groups connect up and work together to improve our borough. I lived in Brighton, Wales and Hong Kong before settling in Barking & Dagenham 14 years ago.

 

Mr A Shams – Co-opted Governor

Term of Office: 7.11.2024

Post of Responsibility - Health and Safety/Wellbeing and Cultural Education

I was previously a parent governor.  My experience includes senior executive roles in facilities management, security and customer service. Since 2008, I have been involved in establishing and running a Security Services Company as Managing Director. In addition to my focus on security, I have been commercially active in a number of other investment areas.  I have a first class Masters degree in Biological Sciences.

 

Ms J Long - Local Authority Representative

Term of Office: 1.03.2026

Post of Responsibility: SEND

I have been the Local Authority Representative for Henry Green since the beginning of 2022.  I have worked as a teacher and now a senior leader within Barking and Dagenham in SEND settings for the last seventeen years.  I am passionate about education and have a strong professional interest promoting positive and proactive behaviour supports for children and young people to ensure that they overcome barriers to fully meet their potential.
